Teach your dog to understand and respond to commands, follow rules, and exhibit desirable behaviors. Learn to use various techniques to communicate effectively with your dog, encouraging good behavior through positive reinforcement such as treats, praise, and affection. Training typically starts with basic commands like "sit," "stay," "come," and "leave it." These foundational commands help build a strong bond between you and your dog and provide a basis for more advanced training.
This training builds on basic commands to address more complex behaviors and improve your dog’s obedience and responsiveness. At this stage, you will focus on refining the skills your dog has already learned and introducing new challenges. Increase the duration your dog holds a command and practice in different environments with various distractions. For example, extend the time your dog must "stay" before receiving a reward and practice in parks or busy areas.
Advanced dog training goes beyond basic obedience and focuses on more complex behaviors, tricks, and problem-solving skills. It aims to refine your dog’s responsiveness, adaptability, and overall behavior, often preparing them for specialized roles or activities. Introduce basic agility training, involving obstacles that will make your dog comfortable with various textures and sounds. This improves your dog’s coordination and co speed, and problem-solving skills while strengthening your bond.
